Description: Vertegy served as the LEED Consultant to the project’s Construction Manager for this addition to Omaha North High School. The magnet school, which serves students in grades nine through twelve, specializes in the fields of science, engineering and technology. The four-story addition primarily consists of science classrooms and labs, but also serves the school’s media, technology and engineering programs. Specific sustainable features include the use of certified wood, with 81% of wood harvested from FSC-certified sources; a green roof, which serves as a secondary teaching space; water efficient landscaping; and recycled and regional materials.
