Description: Vertegy served as the LEED Consultant to the construction management team responsible for the renovation of Umrath Hall. Located on Washington University's Danforth Campus in St. Louis, Umrath Hall houses administrative offices, lounges, assembly space and classrooms for multiple campus uses, including the Center for the Humanities, the Department of Classics and the Danforth Center for Religion and Politics. The complete renovation of Umrath Hall, which was originally built in 1904 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, includes the removal and replacement of the roof structure and second floor. The building renovation includes new walls, windows, floor and ceiling finishes, HVAC, fire protection and electrical systems. Achieving LEED 2009 Silver, the Umrath renovation maintained the historic integrity of the classic collegiate gothic architectural exterior, while updating the interior to provide more contemporary features and technology.
