Description: Vertegy served as the LEED project manager for the General Motors automotive manufacturing complex, which consists of:

  • Body shop
  • Central administration building
  • Visitor arrival center
  • Site infrastructure and parking lots
LEED certification was a requirement of the Design-Build RFP, so the team was motivated to reach beyond a conventional approach in order to adhere to the GM build standards, requirements of the manufacturing process and the USGBC guidelines. Vertegy’s work with the integrated team helped to achieve additional points not originally thought to be feasible, allowing the project to reach Gold, instead of the originally targeted level of Certified. Sustainable features include a rainwater harvesting system and exemplary levels of recycled and regional materials usage.
